Summertime White Sangria

I've never been one to shy away from throwing a party. I'm an event planner after all. But I will say that I was a bit nervous about this backyard soiree last year. It was about 30 guests in our little yard all waiting for dinner. I did have the forethought to provide liquid entertainment to help ease the 30 minute wait for dinner.

Sangrias are always a hit and this was no different. It tasted bright and fruity and perfect for the hot summer day. We pulled the oranges and lemons from our tree, but sourced the other ingredients from the supermarket. Putting them in these mason jar dispensers really upped the cute factor.

Pro-tip, add fresh flowers to the serving table and guests will think you do this professionally.

To Strain or Not to Strain

I'm in the strain camp. The dispensers I have get clogged very easily with fruit. Few things will stop a party faster than not being able to drink the beautiful beverage sitting right in front of you. It also gives you the opportunity to provide fresh fruit on the side rather than fruit that has broken down overnight.

Can I Make It Less/More Alcoholic?

Of course! Sangrias are very forgiving. Make it less alcoholic by adding more sparkling water and decreasing the wine and brandy. If you wanted more of a kick, increase wine and brandy and decrease the water. Keep in mind that this will change the flavor and it might be beneficial to increase the fruit.  Have fun with it! Do what you want, it’s super hard to mess up.
